Fox Bros. B-B-Que 04/08/2011
I guess it’s time to start slapping momma’s around here. Fox Bros. BBQ is exactly what I needed when I went cruising down DeKalb Ave. The food is mostly Texas BBQ inspired and has southern BBQ influences throughout. I had heard good rumors about this award winning joint and was happy to know they were all true. There were a few appetizers that I was aware of before stepping into this place. I chose to go with the “Texas Fries”. For these fries you surely need to bring out the fork. They are covered in this rich BBQ sauce, topped with a combo of chopped brisket and pulled pork, then finished with thinly sliced jalapenos and melted cheese. It was definately the right choice I believe. Other appetizing items that seemed interesting were: *The Tomminators and the Lopez—which were tater tots covered in Brunswick stew or brisket chili and melted cheese. *Fried Jalapeno Chips-Fried pickled jalapenos Next, I had to go with the “Everything Plate.” Sorry, I couldn’t just choose one. It consisted of pulled pork, sliced brisket, and 4 ribs. The sides chosen were cold slaw and Brunswick stew. The brisket you can get sliced or chopped. As for the third meat you have the choice of the ribs, chicken, or wings. All the items we had were wonderful. The pork was juicy and tender. The brisket slices were cooked to perfection. The ribs had a great seasoned rub and fell right off the bone. The Brunswick stew was good, however, next time I think I will be going for the Frito Pie for a side. It’s served in a Frito bag of course, and topped with award winning brisket chili. So, I have nothing but good things to say about my experience at Fox Bros. They will definitely being seeing more of me there. Comments Your comment will be posted after it is approved. Leave a Reply | CategoriesAll AuthorRocky Hutchins SeasonsJuly 2011 |
